The Georgian Sound Festival
T-C Rotary has teamed up with the Georgian Sound Big Band to run this fantastic celebration of Jazz and Big Band music each Spring -- it's a full weekend of musical treats!
Friday night kicks things off with Jazzmania -- a civilized "pub crawl" featuring 10 unique venues throughout Thornbury and Clarksburg, each one with its own jazz group. It's a not-to-be-missed evening!
Big Band Saturday is just as it sounds -- an afternoon session and an evening session, featuring 3 terrific big bands! Polish up your dancing shoes......you're gonna love this day!
Sunday includes 2 great events -- our annual Jazz Brunch and then wrapping up with Gospelfest in the afternoon.....there's something here for everyone!!
AND.....NEW this year -- in keeping with the beliefs and mandate of both Georgian Sound Big Band AND Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club, the festival has added a wonderful new feature to the list this year -- the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Jazz YouthFest -- aimed at providing the region's youth jazz musicians a great venue to perform and be adjudicated by respected professionals. The Jazz YouthFest is scheduled for all day on Friday, April 23rd.
